Hello, my name is Carol Hughes. I've owned and operated Custom Costumes and Tailor Made for 25 and 30 years. Today I'm going to teach you some basics in ironing. So today, I'm going to teach you how to iron wool pants. Today the tools you are going to need are an ironing board, a steam iron, a spray bottle, a pressing cloth. Okay, to iron wool pants, I usually begin at the very top. Get your pockets out of the way. Steam it and you work your way around the top part of the pants. Try not to get the pockets in the way because if you don't have a press cloth you wind up with the shinies we call it, where the pockets and seams and so forth are. And I have to pull it at it. Now to iron your legs and crease the pants you want to center the out seam with the inseam on each leg. And spread it out nice and smooth. And then you begin pressing. If you need a really hard press get out the old fashion pressing cloth and spray it with the water. And then press. Flip it over and do the other side. And then at the hip area where it sometimes it's still a little wrinkled just, I lift it up and I shoot it with the steam. And that's how you iron wool pants.
