Hi, I'm Brandi Allen with Shiva's Centre here in Salt Lake City, Utah. And today, I'm going to talk to you about some Yoga postures and benefits of Yoga for children with cerebral palsy. So, in my understanding, cerebral palsy, they need strengthening of the muscles and the bones. So, I'm going to show you a couple of postures that can be helpful for that and I have Amelia Louise here to help me demonstrate a couple of those postures. The first posture that we're going to show is Cat Cow. So, you star on your hands and knees, with your hands underneath your shoulders and knees underneath the hips and this one follows the breath. As you exhale, you round the spine and drop the head and then inhale, you lift the head and curve the spine. "And do that a couple of times Amelia". Rounding as you breath out and breathing in going in the opposite direction and this is great for working the spine and getting the fluid in the spine moving. The other one we're going to show is Baddha Konasana or Butterfly Pose where the soles of the feet go together, pulling the heels enclose to the body and sitting up as tall as you can; Butterfly Pose. And again, my name is Brandi Allen here at the Shiva's and these are a couple of postures that you can use with your children if they have cerebral palsy.
