Hi, I'm Amy Newman, Fitness Expert/Creator of the Perfect 10 Workout, and I'm going to show you some Eastern style breathing techniques that you can use in your Yoga practices. What you want to do is start off with your hand, hand pose, with your thumb out, your ring finger and your pinkie finger stretched out. The other two into the palm of your hand. Your other hand nice and relaxed and just laying on your thigh as you sit in easy pose. Now, we're going to take in a deep breath as we clasp our right nostril. We're going to inhale to the count of four, "Hmmmm"; then, we're going to clasp the other nostril and hold our breath for sixteen. Release the right nostril and exhale for a count of eight. Then, inhale again for a count of four, "Hmmmm". Close off the nostril, hold it for sixteen. Release the other nostril and exhale for a count of eight. And repeat again, as you inhale for four, "Hmmmm", close it off, hold it for sixteen. Exhale for eight, inhale for four, close off both nostrils, hold it for sixteen, release the other side for eight. Inhale for four, "Hmmmm", and just repeat on both sides. Those are Eastern techniques for helping you with your breathing exercises in Yoga.
