Hi, I'm Amy Newman, fitness expert, creator of The Perfect 10 Workout, and I'm going to show you the abdominal scoop in Pilates. Let's roll back onto our elbows, and we are going to do a lot of breathing. This is what you want to do, is round out your lower back, actually make it scoop towards the floor. Take in a deep breath, opening up your diaphragm, exhaling, squeezing in your abdominals so your belly button goes back towards your spine, scooping. Inhale, exhaling, pressing the muscles into the floor. Inhaling, opening the diaphragm. Exhale, scooping in the belly button in towards the spine, squeezing those abdominals and exhaling completely. You should feel your back round out as much as possible, pressing it down, kind of tilting your pelvis up. Thanks for joining me as I show you how to do a Pilates move that is called the abdominal scoop.
