Hi, I'm Callie Hanson, from Revolve Fitness, and today we're going to be talking about how to set up a yoga workout. My experience is in Hatha yoga, a physical yoga, which means everything in it's place. And when we go to set up a yoga workout, we want to make sure that everything is in it's place. The first thing I like to do is create a calming, relaxing environment. And you can do that in a couple of ways. I like to make sure that any open doors or windows are shut to ensure privacy. You can turn down the lights. And I also like to play some low to mid-tempo music, nonverbal music to really help set the mood. The second thing you want to make sure that's in place is that you have the appropriate clothing on. I like to use breathable fabrics that can't constrict movement, really help you to feel free in your poses. The third thing you want to make sure you have is the proper equipment. And yoga is great because it doesn't require a lot of equipment. You need to make sure you have a good quality yoga mat. You can purchase that from any local sporting good store or even on the Internet. And then, any other props you might like to use. Maybe a towel or a block, or even an elastic band, those can all help in stretching. And the last thing you want to do is format the workout itself. I like to make sure that I have a warm up phase, a work phase, time to do salutations, final deep stretches, and then final relaxation. Which is really going to help you reap all the benefits of your practice. And this has been how to set up a yoga practice.
