My name is Katie Marble. I am a gymnastics recreational instructor at Black Diamond Sports Center and Gymnastics in South Jordan, Utah. And, we are going to go over a hip flexer stretch to prevent any hip injuries that could arise. So, Jamie here will put her right leg in front to a low lunge, keeping the knee and ankle at the 90 degrees. And then, press through, and the back leg we want straight. And then, we can have her chest tall. And then, if this is not enough, we can always raise the back foot to increase the stretch further. And, another stretch that we can do to further increase our flexibility in the hip area is to have Jamie go into a low seal lunge, keeping the legs straight, and the chest tall. Elbows are also straight. And, press forward and up. And, this is also going to release the psoas muscles as well.
