My name is Katie Lynn Marble. I am a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor at Black Diamond Gymnastics and Sports Center in South Jordan, Utah, and we are going to learn how to do a beginning level gymnastics beam routines. So, the first thing is to follow the USA Gymnastics Genetic Program and first you want to start by introducing acrobatic elements or skills to a routine. And then, once those skills are perfected, you introduce dance elements and then, put the dance elements and the skills together, learn the routine in parts and then, put altogether to a forte. So, first I'm going to begin with an acrobatic element to the beginning gymnastics routine. First, we want up, like swing through; toe tucks it, pikes it. Roll, to candlestick is also an acrobatic element through a routine. To rise, arabesque begins our dance set; to coupe walk and coupe again. Back to to releve, pivot turn. Stretch turn is back to our acrobatic element. Releve is dance, to our dismount which is also; let's hold it this way; an acrobatic element. Straight jump, step. My name is Katie Marble. I am a Gymnastics Recreational Instructor at Black Diamond Sports Center and Gymnastics in South Jordan, Utah. We just completed putting together a gymnastics beam routine for level one and went through introducing the acrobatic skills and elements and then, perfecting those to add in the dance and put them together in parts to complete a final gymnastics beam routine.
