My name is Jami Sharp, and I'm the Competitive Program Director and head coach for Black Diamond Gymnastics and Sports Center in South Jordan. Today, I'm going to be talking about how to find a gymnastics program for kids. One of the basic things that you need to do when looking for a gymnastics program is making sure that the club is affiliated with USA Gymnastics. That is to ensure that that club has to be running to an accordance to all USA Gymnastic's rules. Another thing to look for is a safe facility. If the facility doesn't look like it's been up-kept or clean, then we know that the facility is not going to be a safe environment for your children to be doing proper gymnastic skills through all of the upper levels. Another thing you want to look for is making sure that all the coaches are safety certified through USA Gymnastics. It doesn't help to have CPR Certification or it doesn't hurt, excuse me, to have CPR Certification or even First Aid Certified. Another thing that you want to look for is watching the coaches as they interact with the children. That can be one of the most important things that you do for your child, is to make sure that that coach cares about what your child is doing, and is willing to be energetic and excited whenever anything happens in the gym. So once again, my name is Jami Sharp. I'm the Competitive Program Director for Black Diamond Gymnastics and Sports Center in South Jordan and we have just been talking about how to find a gymnastics program for your kids.
