Hi, this is Victoria Warfel, with DreamDogz Training, located in Gainesville, Florida, here to talk about dog training techniques to break bad habits. If your dog has a bad habit, be it barking, jumping, pulling on a leash, seek a professional's help. To do it yourself, it depends on what your dog does. If your dog jumps up on people, you're going to reward him for not jumping up on people. So for that, you could teach him a solid sit. You can usually not go wrong with a solid sit. If you teach your dog two cues, it should be come to you and a solid sit, and have your dog sit. If your dog starts pulling on a leash, you can always have your dog sit. If your dog runs away from you at the dog park, you know, you could try the sit. That's when recall is going to be the other one. The sit to say please, a solid sit and exercise your dog ahead of time. A lot of dogs are going to be disruptive when they're bored, so if you can have an exercise dog mentally and physically, your dog won't be as bored, and hopefully whenever he is home, he'll be sleeping all day long.
