Hi, I'm Brandon Snider. I'm here at The Downtown Athletic Club in Little Rock, Arkansas, and today I'm going to be doing a forearm exercise using a dumbbell. So, I'm going to start out sitting down with my forearm parallel with the floor, and you can start this exercise without a weight just by simply flexing the forearm. It's always nice to kind of press and feel the muscles that you're working here. This is flexion and turning that forearm over, this is extension of the forearm or wrist, alright. So, I'm going to simply use a dumbbell. I would recommend starting out with one pound if you're going to start out with one pound, and I'm going to simply flex and just bring it back down, exhale up, inhale down, okay. That's flexion once again, this is extension with the dumbbell. Exhale it up and inhale, bring it back down. You know it's really important to work our forearms. We often forget to work this muscle, but you have to think it prevents injury and it helps propel the movement in almost every upper body exercise that we do.
