I'm here at the Downtown Athletic Club in Little Rock, Arkansas, and today I'm going to do a full body workout by simply doing a squat and press with dumbbells. So, what you want to do first off is start with your feet about hip width apart, maybe just a little bit wider. You want to bring those dumbbells up to your shoulder with your upper arm about parallel with the floor. So, what I'm going to do is simply squat back into my heels and it helps to always look up when you squat to make sure that you don't topple over. So, I'm going to inhale down and exhale, press up. Okay, that's the squat part. Now, I'm going to add a press next. Inhale down and I'm going to exhale, press straight up. Inhale all the way down, exhale all the way up and press up. You want to make sure that you keep those shoulders rolled down and back. We don't want them hunching up, very bad to do that. You want to make sure that you inhale through the chest and exhale through your core because this is also a great exercise that works your core, especially if you do these unilaterally which means just using one weight. So, you can also start out with even a heavier weight on one side, inhale down, exhale up. That's going to train this whole side of the body. And that is a great exercise that you can do. It's simple and it trains the entire body.
