I'm Amy Hamilton-Weldon, Raleigh, North Carolina, Oakwood Nail Spa, and we're going to talk about nail design techniques. We start with base coat. Okay, so, we're going to do marblizing and that means the polish on has to go on at the same time you want to put the, the accent colors on while the base color is still wet. So, we have to open them all and we're going to kind of do two coats of this; we're not going to wait in between to let it dry. But, I'll, I'll put the first coat on and then, right away put the second coat on. So, you're making it, so that covers the whole nail; but, you also have some, it's almost like it's puddling. And we're going to put the white next; just dot it on a couple of times. This nail is small, so I'm just going to do twice. And then the red doesn't show up on the black, so I have to put the red right on the white. And this is our little mixer, just swirl it around a couple of times. When you put the top coat on, it nails it altogether and like here, it's, it's kind of lumpy and you can't really see it as well. But, when you put the top coat on, you can see how it smooths it all out and makes it look more like one level and you can see the design better. Okay, those were just some basic tips, but you should always consult a nail professional.
