Hi, this is Victoria, with DreamDogz Training, located in Gainesville, Florida, here to discuss how to stop your dog from digging in the back yard. First, supervise your dog. If your dog is outside unattended, and he digs when he's bored, and he's going to dig. But, if you're outside with your dog, he won't have the chance to dig, because you'll stop him before he starts. if he is a digging breed, or just has the propensity to dig, you can always get him a kiddie pond, fill it up with some sand, and put some toys in there, and encourage him to dig in his one spot, his digging pond. If you have a smaller dog who likes to dig, or you can't set up a doggie pool, you can use a large cardboard box, and wad up some newspapers, and toss some food inside, or some treats or some toys inside, and let your dog go nuts digging in the digging box. But, give him an outlet where digging is safe, and don't let him outside unsupervised.
