Hi, this is Victoria Warfel, with DreamDogz Training, located in Gainesville, Florida, here to talk about anxiety and dog training. If you have an anxious dog, you want to keep training fun. Heck, even if you don't have an anxious dog, keep training fun. There's no difference between, "SIT!" and "Sit." Think of all behaviors, all obedience training, as tricks, and your dog won't be as anxious, and you'll have fun with training, and your dog will have fun with training. And, that is very important whenever you have a dog who's already timid. You don't want to force your dog into things. You want your dog to really enjoy doing it, and come out of his shell that way. Sit! Java, sit! Come here, sit. No, you don't want to turn your back. Okay, down. Nose work tricks, agility, anything to keep it fun, and your dog will be less anxious.
