Hi, my name is Andrew Curry from GoSkate.com. And today, I'm going to show you how to do a historical skateboard trick, the Smith Grind. The Smith Grind is a trick you can do either on transition, or street. And, it's a really fun trick, it's been around for a long time now. And, what you want to do is, you want to learn how to do 50-50 grinds first, and 5-0 grinds. You want to Ollie up onto a curb, or you can do it on a ramp, but I'll teach you how to do it onto a ledge today. You want to Ollie up onto the ledge, and set your front truck below the back truck. It's not like a 50-50, where both trucks are grinding at the same time. Your back truck is going to be the only one grinding, and the ledge is going to be riding against the rail of your skateboard. Like I said, your front wheels are going to be hanging below the curb itself. That is how you do a Smith Grind. My name is Andrew Curry, from GoSkate.com.
