Hi, this is Jason Morgan with Muscleworx Fitness in Carolina Beach, North Carolina. Today, we're going to discuss how to properly stretch to increase muscle. One of the best ways to enhance your muscle mass is to make sure that you stretch after you do each exercise. For example, if you've done a bench press, you want to make sure you stretch the chest muscles through each range of motion so a good thing to do once you finish your sets, step up, just put your hand on something stationary, step forward so that the arm is extended and you feel the chest stretch across here. Your second stretch would be to come closer to that bar, raise the arm straight up above, step forward in so that you stretch both the vertical and the horizontal aspect of the muscle and repeat to the other side. Hold those stretches for about five, six seconds each. What that's going to do is open up the muscle fibers, allow more blood flow. You're going to get a faster recovery and you're also going to loosen those fibers up to create a greater pump during your next set which will also increase your muscle thickness. Please remember these tips are just to provide basic information. Always consult with your health care provider and a fitness consultant before beginning any diet or exercise program.
