Hi, I'm Michelle Karam with "Dishes by Michelle" in Los Angeles, California. One of my favorite things to do during Halloween time is to decorate holiday spooky cupcakes. My kids love to do it with me, and the possibilities are virtually endless as to what you could use as toppings and decorations to do it. So, the first thing that you're going to do is you're going to have your cupcakes obviously that you make. I also have some icing or frosting and this is just regular whipped frosting that I've gotten from a store. I took the gel food coloring and I mixed up some green and some orange ones. I went ahead and I put them in a piping bag, and I put the tip on there, and this one has like a real thin, fine little straight line one, or you can make little zigzags with it, and this one has more of like a flower tip on it. So, one of the things I'm going to do is just go ahead and start icing my cupcakes, that will be the first step. So, I'm going to start with green. So, I like to start out with using frosting as a base because that really just kind of makes it easy. It's just kind of like the foundation of where you can go, of what designs you can make, and you know when you're decorating with this frosting, it's even something that just, you can leave it at just the frosting alone, or you could go ahead and get the extra embellishments. It really doesn't matter, and this is one of those projects that kids absolutely love. So, just one thing to remember is there's no right way or wrong way to do this. It's all about having fun, getting in there and just being creative with it. You know, nobody's going to come and tell you, "I really didn't like the way that cupcake looked," because at the end of the day they just want to eat it. Alright, so I've gone ahead and frosted my cupcakes, and now I'm going to add some embellishments to them. One of the things that I've done is I have this chocolate mold that I have, and it's this neon green-looking chocolate that I've gone ahead and I've piped into this mold that I have, put it in the freezer, and then I took it out and it looks like this skeleton and bones man. I think I'm going to put him in this one right here, what will make him look like he's going to the cemetery. Poor Mr. Bones, and look at how fun these are, they just, even these little things, there's no fancy frosting, there's nothing real spectacular going on about it, but it just, it's so much fun. They look so festive. You can add some of these to it. Like I said, no rhyme or reason, just fun. You know one of my favorite things about this project I should say really, because it's what it is, is that when you get the kids in there with you in the kitchen, they are being so creative with all this. I mean, I just did six cupcakes and I had an absolute blast doing it. I can only imagine how much more fun I would have if I was in the kitchen with my kids and they were in here working with me.
