Hi, I'm Kristen Smith-Hilton, a global fashion stylist and beauty expert, also the President and Creative Director of Novella Style Group. I have been asked to talk to you about slides and mules, which come in a variety and can be very, very confusing. A slide is something that your foot is actually inserted into, and the only thing holding you in that shoe is a little bit of luck. So, if you are a real pro, you can actually go as high as five to six inches. When dealing with a heel, you want to make sure that the width is something that you are comfortable with, and you're able to stand on and even balance, as well as walk. Another thing a lot of people do not think about is the fact that when you are wearing a high heel, every part of your body is working out. A good heel is constructed to tilt you at just the appropriate angle, so watch those slippery surfaces, watch the stairs, and if you don't have an escort and you don't feel like a pro, the shoes will be flipping and flopping about ,and you might as well have worn flip flops. They come in wedges, small little straps, larger straps, but the most important thing to remember is fit. It must be snug across the top, and the bridge of your foot to insure that you are going to stay in there. They are never a shoe that should be worn with hose, because you're just going to be adding more slippery to an already precarious situation. So, go barefoot. If you need any type of padding to make sure it stays snug, it's important to have the inserts as well as any other strap, tape or other than that, is just time to pray and walk, stay straight, tight with your head up. Again, this is Kristen Smith-Hilton, global fashion stylist and beauty expert, with tips on how to wear your mules and your slides. Be careful out there.
