Hey moms! Welcome to "Cooking with Kids" on eHow. I'm Barbara Beery, kids' cooking expert, cookbook author and founder of "Kids Cook!" here in Austin, Texas. I have Tatum with me here today, and we're going to show you how to blast out some Bento box lunches that your kids can't resist. Tatum, have you ever used a Bento box before? Isn't it the coolest thing? Well, and you know, Bento boxes are about individual servings, and a lot of kids don't like to have things mixed together, so this is the perfect option for them, and it's also very eco-friendly because you're not throwing things away. You're using them again and again, and that's important for our Earth, isn't it? Yes. Alright, let's take a look at what you've chosen for your Bento box, and tell me about it. First of all, what's this right here? It's zucchini. You have zucchini in there. That looks so cool. How did you do that? I cut it with a special knife. Will you show me how to do it? That's kind of like a little ridge knife, isn't it? Yes. Oh, hold it up and let me see. You know what that looks like? That's even cooler than what you did before; that almost looks like a tulip, doesn't it? You could make a flower out of that. That looks neat, and then you've got what, broccoli? Yes. And I think that's a pepper with something wrapped around it; what is that? Salami. Oh, salami. I love salami. Now, this is what I'm particularly interested in, and I happen to know what you did here. We cooked up some rice, and color is really important to kids, as is flavor, but I think it's really fun to give kids something that's a different color, but still tastes the same, so we put a tiny bit of food coloring in the cooked rice and stirred it in, but look what Tatum did. She made a really cute cheese flower with what? Is that a tomato on it? Uh huh. Will you do that again for me and let everybody see how to do that and how easy it is. Uh huh. Thank you. So, you just take a slice of cheese, any flavor you like, and make sure it's really cold. Beautiful. Punch it out. Now what? What are you going to do to that? I'm going to make it into something that everybody knows. An adorable flower. That is so cute. I bet you'd eat that up faster than anything wouldn't you? Yes. Now, I want to show you some other things too that we have for Bento lunches. You do not necessarily have to have a Bento kit. These are readily available on the market, and they're little tiny silicone cups, and you could put, I don't know, a number of things; you could put cheese grated in there. You could put grated carrots, put in there, even a tiny little cupcake. I think that was a great job. I love the Bento box you put together, and thanks for joining Tatum and I today on eHow. See you next time.
