Hi, I'm Jordan Carlman and we're going to talk about symbols in text messages. Now, there's different options when you're going to want to use symbols for text messages either for grammar and punctuation or for emoticons which are use to show emotions within your text messages. On a standard phone like the Motorola Razor that has a standard keypad, you're going to want to use the soft keys on the left and right hand side of your phone. Now, if this is not applied to your phone, you may need to contact the manufacturer of your phone or check out your user's guide. Now, once you're in your text message, if you use the left or right hand soft key associated with options and go to text entry method, you're going to find these symbols button. And now, you're going to be on one of three pages that's going to allow you to scroll through different symbols. Remember that this will vary per manufacturer, so you may need to contact the manufacturer of your cellphone or check your user's guide to make sure this information applies to you. Now, you'll notice in the left and right hand side of the screen, it shows previous to go backwards or next to go forward within my one to three pages of symbols. I will use the left or right hand soft key to go hand scroll through these pages. Now, on this very first page, I have here a number of different symbols I can choose from. If I want to, I can use my directional pad on my cellphone or a D-pad to scroll through these different symbols. If I want to go to the next page, I hit the right soft key for next which puts me on page two of three and then finally, if I hit next again, I end up on page three of three. Once I've located the symbol want, I can select, that I want, I can either select it by highlighting it with the D-pad and then pressing the middle of the D-pad for okay or as you notice with the symbol, it has a number associated with it which I can use my dialing keypad to press to select that symbol. So right now, I'm highlighted on number two; if I press okay, I will select it or if I press the number two, I will also select it. And that's how you use symbols on text with a standard phone.
