Hi, I'm Mario Alberto Salcido, and I'm a freelance multimedia designer. I have 11 years experience in film and video production and desktop publishing. Today, I want to talk to you about how to use a graphics tablet. The basic materials that you'll need in order to use a graphic tablet is a computer, and obviously a tablet to use it on. The very first step you want to make whenever you are using a graphics tablet is to open the desired application that you wish to use. In most cases, it's usually Photoshop, especially when you are using a graphics tablet. And the reason being is that a graphics tablet is primarily an illustration based tool. Another way to look at it is that a graphics tablet is basically a digital version of a drawing pad. Now the second step you want to make when installing your graphics tablet is to make sure you make all the necessary adjustments so that it works well with basically so it works the way that you need it to. That goes from everything from adjusting the brush sizes to the stroke widths and what have you. Whatever makes you feel comfortable. Okay, the third step in using a graphics tablet is to creating your document. Once you have all your settings adjusted and everything and you are ready to go you can basically create the specifications for your document and then begin illustrating in layers or that specific single layer that you wish to use.
