Hi, I'm Bill Walker and I'm going to show you how to cut down mini blinds. You will need a measuring tape, a marker, and a hacksaw. The first step is measure the inside of the window sill, with the measuring tape, measure the width of the top of the sill. Now, measure the center, next measure the width of the bottom. With a pencil, mark down the smallest of these measurements, subtract a quarter inch from this measurement. This is the measurement you will need to cut the blind downwards. A quarter inch will give you an eighth of an inch levee on each side of the window sill. Next, you are going to use this measurement to determine how much to cut off the blind. Using the measuring tape, mark the spot where you will cut the blind down on the head rail of the blind. Take the hacksaw and saw off this portion of the head rail. If the slats are too wide, you will have to do the same procedure for each slat and then, the bottom rail will have to be cut, also. And that is how to cut down mini blinds.
