Hi my name is Tanya Batts, I'm a personal trainer at Gold's Gym. I want to talk to you about deep breathing exercises. The things you will need for this are: a mat, and some space. These can be done through out the day. Even with you driving in traffic, someone cuts you off and you get real mad. Focus on your breath. And it's amazing what the breath can do for you. It's going to release all the tension from your body. It's going to help with your lungs, they're going to become really a lot stronger, more elasticity, increase the circulation. And it's just going to give you an overall sense of calmness. So be calm with me. Have a seat, sit tall. Relax your shoulders. Now when you inhale, I'm going to place my hands on my ribcage. When I inhale, look at my fingers go apart. And when I exhale my finger tips come back together. So just think of inhale breathing in, to the lungs or into the diaphragm and exhale. And now your breath might sound like Darth Vader. Inhale, and exhale. One more deep breath in, filling your lungs full and exhale. So you want to try doing that for about maybe 9 minutes. And you will not believe the overall sense of calmness that you will have. It will help you relax your face, relax all the muscles in your neck, your back. Just everything is going to feel a lot calmer, so anytime you are stressed out or getting upset maybe mad at the kids, take a few minutes to take a few deep breaths. And it's just going to help you calm down and that's how you do the deep breathing exercises.
