Hi, I'm Sean Donahue from Home Video Library Electronics, and I'm here today to tell you about why you want a subwoofer. One of the most important things when looking for a subwoofer is the brand. If you buy an inexpensive brand, lots of times the driver's cheap and will wear out around the surface of the speaker cone. Also, what you want to know, so that you can compare apples to apples, is you want to know what the power of the subwoofer is. Typically, 100 watts or 150 watts is pretty average, but subwoofers can go all the way past 1000 watts of power. Also, the thing you want to ask when looking for subwoofers is, what is the frequency response? How low and what frequencies will a subwoofer get down to. Because the lower it goes, the more rumble and impact you'll have on watching your movies. I'm Sean Donahue, and these are things you want to think about when looking for subwoofers.
