Hi, I'm Max Eberle, talking to you from Hard Times Billiards in Bellflower, California. And today, I'm going to tell you how to win at 9 Ball. And basically, 9 Ball is rotation pool, where you pocket the balls in numbered order. And to win the game, you make the 9 ball. So, basically you could run the table, and then when you make the 9 ball, you win the game. Or, your opponent could run the table and miss the nine, and if all you can do is make the 9 ball, and you win the game. Or, you could also shoot a ball out of turn, you could make the 9 ball like hitting the lowest numbered ball, say it's the 2 ball, you could make the combination, hit the 2 ball into the 9 and win the game that way. Or, you could carom the cue ball off the lowest numbered ball into the 9 and then win the game that way, by pocketing the 9. You could also make the 9 ball on the break, and win the game that way. So, as long as you make the 9 ball, in a legal shot, you're going to win the game. And as far as actually playing the game and winning, the best way to do it is to actually run the table from your first shot and pocket the 9 ball that way. You could also play it safe, that comes up a lot in tournaments where you don't have a good shot, so you try to lock up your opponent. And then have them miss the lowest numbered ball, and the you get ball hand. So, there's all kinds of strategies to getting a shot on that 9 ball. The best one is to basically master the cue ball so that you can run the table in order, in rotation, run the balls in rotation. And then actually run down to the 9 ball, make the 9 ball and win. So, that's how you win the game. I'm Max Eberle, and that's how to win in 9 ball.
