Hi, my name is Tanya Batts. I'm a personal trainer at Gold's Gym. How to lose weight after a Prednisone treatment. The things you will need for this are: a mat and some space. Prednisone basically means a low dosage of steroids. And the reason you gain weight is because the Prednisone helps you absorb salt. And retain sodium which is salt and helps you swell. So, a lot of people if you have been taking Prednisone for a long time they are going to develop that moon face. Kind of that big round face and you are probably going to get it in the abdominals usually, right around the abdomen. And in the back of the neck. So, you really want to work out to get rid of all that water which is bloating. So, you got to do cardio. There's just no way around it. And there is nothing wrong with that. Alright so if you want to work out hard, I am going to face you. Prisoner squats, fingers on side of head, lower and lift. I am doing 1 minute of these, well I'm not but you are. One minute, from the side. Fingertips on the head, lower and lift. That's working the butt, the abdominals are pulled in. I'm sitting way back so my knee is not going over my toe. Alright so that's one. You do 1 minute of that, come on down to the floor. Come low here, these are called mountain climbers. I'm bringing 1 knee towards the elbow, so I am talking 1 minute guys. Keep your head up, don't let the head drop below the heart, 1 minute. Come on up. Another thing cause you want the heart rate up, kick your butt. Got to get the heart rate going. Drink plenty of water. You want to help kind of get all that water out. Those are a few things you can do. To get the heart rate going, kind of really help get all that water that you got, that you've been retaining. You want to eat more bananas, cantaloupe. It's going to help kind of increase your potassium levels and help get rid of that bloating.
