Hello, my name is Linda DiSimone. I'm a Seamstress and Designer and today, I'm going to show you how to sew on grosgrain ribbon. The things you will need is your grosgrain ribbon, scissors, pins, sewing machine and fray check and needle and thread. Step one, because grosgrain ribbon frays, you're going to need to fold it down and sew it so that you can make a nice finish. So here I have, we just turn it over once, turn it over twice, pin it and that will give you a nicer edge. Or your other option is, there's a product called fray check that if you put it on the edge, with your finish edge, it will prevent the grosgrain ribbon from fraying. Step two is now that you have your side pins off to give it more of a finished edge, take your needle and thread, make the knot at the ends of your thread so it doesn't come through and then just sew a little hem stitch all through the bottom. And like I said, you can do it on the sewing machine if you prefer, or you can hand stitch it this way. When you get to the end, just tie your knot and sew it and then you're finished. So you have either a finished edge like this or you could use your fray check. My name is Linda DiSimone, and thanks for watching this video.
