Hi, I'm Linda DiSimone, seamstress and designer. And today, we're going to sew a shawl. What you're going to need is, some material you're going to make your shawl out of, the pins, scissors, matching thread, and sewing machine. Step one, is to cut your fabric in to a rectangle shape, the size that you want, the length and the width. I have one here as an example. And if you're lucky enough, if you have fabric that doesn't fray, like this one, you could be finished. Here's your shawl. But if you have fabric that does fray on the ends, then you need to sew a seam which I'll show you so that you can have a nice finished edge. Step two, is that we're going to sew and make a nice finished edge. Fold your material and fold it again, place some pins in it to hold it in place, and then we'll go over to the sewing machine. And you will do this all around the whole perimeter of your item. My name is Linda DiSimone, and thanks for watching this video.
