Hello, this is Chef Peter Ryan from Cook Street School of Culinary Arts in Denver, Colorado. Today, we're going to talk about how to cook with stainless steel pans. Now, stainless steel pans are found in most kitchens because they are not very expensive. They do not stain very easily and they do not react with any kinds of foods. Stainless steel pans, however, they don't conduct heat all that well so, oftentimes you will find an aluminum or cooper core at the bottom to help conduct heat more evenly throughout the pans. Also, stainless steel pans, they take quite a bit of time to heat up so a good tip is to allow your pan to get hot before you add your fat and your fat is always necessary when you are cooking in your stainless steel pan to help keep it from sticking. So that's it, how to cook with stainless steel pans, very easy. Give the pan a minute to heat up and then always add some fat.
