Hi, I'm Charlotte Lawson, a registered, licensed dietitian here in Tampa Bay, Florida, and I get the question, how do you eat healthy at work? Well, it can be very difficulty when we are running through a very busy day, when work projects are piling up and we're running out the clock. But, the biggest thing I can say is have healthy snacks on hand. I know, I get laughed at all the time because I'm consistently, constantly eating at work. But, it's okay if you're choosing the right amount of foods. Have canned fruits with no added sugar, or canned tuna, which is a great source of low, low-fat lean protein. Those things on hand will actually curb your appetite when you are constantly feeding your body with these small, low-calorie snacks. It's okay to say no to the potluck at work too. I know lots of times people will bring in sweets and desserts or extra treats they have from home. You can have a small bite, but maybe not a whole thing. That way you're succumbing to that small craving, but not giving in too much where it becomes a splurge. So, have those snacks on hand so you're avoiding those periods where you're starving for food, and are going to be more likely to binge. It's okay to snack throughout the day, just make sure they're healthy choices, and every now and then if you need to have that little treat, its okay too. Just remember that portion size. So, have good snacks, make right choices, and it's okay to give in every now and then. Happy eating, and do it good at work too. I'm Charlotte. Thanks for stopping in.
