Hi, my name is Jay Smith from Community Dog Training, and I'm here in Oracle, Arizona today to talk to you a little bit about how to introduce a new dog to an aggressive one. You will need the following: one type of muzzle. One of the first things you should do when introducing a new dog to an aggressive dog, is make sure the aggressive dog is in some type of behavior modification program or already through that program. The second thing that needs to be done, for safety, is to put a muzzle on the aggressive dogs. Now, most dog introductions do much better off-leash, within a secure area, not through a fence or through a crate. The fourth thing, to set your dog up to succeed to be introduced to an aggressive dog, is to use neutral territory. Don't take them to the aggressive dog's backyard. The fifth thing that should be done when introducing your dog to an aggressive dog is, within that secure area, and they're off-leash, keep moving. Don't stand still and watch your dog. Another thing you can do to set your dog up to succeed, when you're introducing to an aggressive dog, is try to introduce male to female, not male to male or female to female. This is Jay Smith, and that is how to introduce a new dog to an aggressive dog.
