Operating a backhoe is a lot like a lot of other things. You need to know what your finished product needs to be before you start a job. Such as whether you have eroded areas and you want to fill erosion with gravel, dirt, top soil, whatever. And know about how much to put and level it out and dress it up and have a finished product. Or whether you may be loading a truck, you need to know about how much you want to put in the truck, and a safe manner of putting it in the truck. And be safe in doing everything you do. And this applies whether you own a backhoe or rent a backhoe or borrow a backhoe. At any way you need to be safe and think about what your finished product needs to be in order to obtain a finished product. Always remember in your finished product you may be digging. Have plans of digging a ditch, put a drainage line, or open ditch or whatever. Whether it's through your own personal yard or others. Always remember, something might already be in that ground that you need to know about. So your finished product can vary according to what others have in the ground or you have to work around their area. So it might be a drain pipe in the ground that you need to know about or it might be a water line or a phone line. So always know what your finished product is but also know what's already there.
