Hi, my name is Hector Sanchez from the Santa Barbara Dance Center from the Just Baila Dance Company. Today we are going to learn how to do pivot Bachata steps. So we're going to do pivot turns, in Bachata. We're going to learn how to do that and we're going to do that individually, first our partner and then ourselves. So you could be at home and practice the pivot turns on your own without the need of a partner, without the need of pretty much anything. You can practice these and maybe you can feel comfortable and go out and try them. So we're going to need today is our partner because we need to learn how to do it both the leaders and the followers. We are also going to need dance shoes, we are going to need just about anywhere where you could dance, there's a floor, a dance floor, wood floor, a dirt floor, brick floor, just about anywhere where you could stand up on and lastly but most importantly, you're going to need Bachata music. So we're going to start to the side, one, two, three, feet together. Now when we come back to the other side, she's going to step out, pivot, pivot, together. And she's going to move to the other side, out, pivot, pivot, together. Her feet are as close as she can keep them together while she's turning because that's how you keep your center a little bit better. Now, thank you. Now for the guy it is going to be the same thing, the only difference is we're going to be using a little less hip and we're going to be a little more aware of where our front is so we can lead a little more comfortably. So when we move to the side, we're going to pivot, pivot, pivot and we're always going to look forward, we're going to look for our focus point. We're going to be spotting. And this is both an excellent idea for the ladies and the gentlemen to practice. So both, ladies and gentlemen spotting forward always looking forward and having a focus point while you're turning is the best idea. One, two, three, together, one, two, three, together. And that is how you at home can practice your pivot turns for Bachata.
