Hi, my name is Jesse Shale, I'm the head football coach here at Miami Christian School in Miami, Florida. In this clip we're going to show you how to be a great blocker in football and, you know all the fundamentals but you really got to put those fundamentals into play if you're going to be a great blocker. So what we like to set up here is, we like to set up our offensive linemen, in their correct stance and we're going to emphasize, not only do they use correct fundamentals--let's half walk through--correct fundamentals--first step with hand, set, hit--correct fundamentals is getting those hands into the shoulder pads, head in hands, rolling through, and climbing with the hands to get control of the other player. All right, bring it back. Now, as he does that, his goal is to stand him up, because once he stands him up, he raises his center of gravity, and thus makes it a lot easier to not only block him, but put him into the ground, and that's going to make you a great blocker in football. So, let's go full speed. Kay, as he's going through, set, hit, he's going to go all the way through, all the way to the whistle, all the way to the whistle, and that's, that's one of the great things, too, about a great blocker is that they will continue to block no matter what's going on. They, they, their, they'll key is only to listen for that whistle. Let's bring it in again. Show a little more resistance, this time. Set, hit! He's going to keep going, he's going to keep going until he hears the whistle. He's not stopping because he has no reason to stop, no reason to stop and that's the same reason--alright you can stop--sometimes you gotta call the dogs off, but that's what we got to do. You got to be able to go 100 percent from whistle to whistle cause you'll have a break between plays, but it's got to all come out in that, in that little span of time that you have in a play. You want to be a great blocker, a hundred percent, all the time, Jesse Shale, Miami, Florida.
