Hi, I'm Cari Thomas and today I'm going to show you how to make a wine gift basket. The materials needed are obviously the wine, the foods to go along with it, your basket, your paper, excelsior and then any type of extra little decor items you'd like to add. Once you have your container and your products that you know you want to put inside of the basket, you're going to go ahead and use your craft paper, newspaper, shopping bags, whatever you need to give the basket a little bit of substance. Especially with a basket like this that's a tray you really want to make sure you build your paper up high enough so that it can hold all the products inside of it. So I've got a few layers of paper and then we're going to cover it with our natural excelsior. I like to use the natural excelsior rather than a tissue or shredded paper for wine baskets because it just has that kind of rustic, classy look. I'm going to go ahead and put the two wine bottles right in the center. Make a little nest for them in the paper. I like to have a little excelsior in between the two bottles. You want to keep the heaviest items on the bottom. We've got a tomato, sun dried tomato tapenade. Some seasoned nuts. And we've got some cheese. Be sure to use a shelf stable cheese if you don't know if the people are going to be there to receive it promptly. Then we've got some truffles. And just as a little extra touch I think it's nice to put in some grapevine leaves. Just to give a little color. And maybe even some grapes along the front. And that's how to make a wine basket.
