Hello my name is Melissa. I'm here at Maui Tan in Atlanta. We have two locations. This is our Vinings location. Our other location is in Midtown Atlanta. Here we offer UVB-free beds, mystic spray tans, all sorts of products and a great knowledge about tanning. Now we'll talk about tanning time in a tanning bed versus tanning time in the outdoor sun. The light that you have in a tanning bed is going to be much cleaner and more filtered than your light out in the sun. The sunlight has much more UVB percentage than you will find in any tanning beds. So, therefore, tanning in a tanning bed is more of a controlled atmosphere. Again, the indoor tanning society wants to stress moderation in tanning. It can be done safer in the beds almost than it can out in the sun. About every five minutes in a bed is equivalent to about an hour out in the regular sun. So, you can see you can judge that about how long you should stay in the bed. Every salon has different levels of beds. Here at our salon, we have levels one, two, and three. Your level two is going to be closer to your outdoor tanning, outdoor sun tanning because it has a little bit more of that stimulant UVB ray in it. Our level ones and level threes have much more control. They have less of that UVB ray and more of that UVA ray. Be sure to speak with your salon employee about which level bed is going to give you the results that you want and work the best with your skin type.
