"Hello, I'm Doctor Robert Hernandez, I'm a licensed psychologist, president and founder of Lafafala Retreat House. Let's talk a little bit about how to relieve job stress. Most of us know that in this world we have a lot of stress related to the different types of jobs that we perform. Usually the jobs pressures fall under two categories. It's either one, related to the job function itself or two, with the interpersonal conflicts that might arise within the job. For example with a co-worker or a supervisor that we're not getting along with. The first one really entails about the different aspects of the job itself. One of the things I suggest to my clients is to take a journal to their work. Write down each different jobs that you perform. And as you're doing them notice how your body's reacting. Notice how you're reacting emotionally to the different tasks at hand. Write those down. Next, if there's any type of co-workers that you don't get along with or co-workers that you feel are causing the stress, write them down. If it's a supervisor that's causing the stress, write that down. The more you start to separate and differentiate between the different factors that affect the job, the faster you'll be able to get to the different sources that the stress is coming up from. Remember stress is always a reaction from the unconscious that tells you that you're either going to suffer some impending loss that something bad is going to happen to you. It could also be that you might have a fantasy or a thought that you're not living up to your position or that maybe you're stealing the company's time because you are not a person that contributes to the over well being of the company. Whatever thought or fantasy, it needs to be explored. Again, if it's an interpersonal conflict then that could also be restored by being with that individual. Whatever the case may be further processing would be needed and beneficial."
