Hi, my name is Tanya Batts and I'm a personal trainer. I'm going to talk to you about how to lose weight in the upper body. The materials you will need for this, to lose weight in your upper body are just a simple pair of light weights. What you really need to do is to start walking and get exercising and you really want to start burning the calories. That's a great thing to do. When you want to lose weight in your upper body, you absolutely do not want the heavy heavy weights. You want to start with the light weights but lots of repetition. A few things you could do, because you want to get that lean muscle mass is just kind of a bicep curl. So get you a pair of light weights, I mean it could be ten pounds and just want to lift. So that's a great thing to start with, just the bicep curl. Another great thing to do, just kind of bring the arm straight out, I'm going to turn to the side, you're just lifting the weights straight out, and I'll tell you why. You really want to keep the arms moving because you're getting them long and lean. Another thing I think about are the triceps. That's a tough areas to work. So I'm going to show you want to do. Just kind of want to come down, arm on the thigh, send that weight straight out, keep the elbow close to the side, push. And you just want to squeeze the back of the arm as you push that weight back. Lots and lots of reps, I mean until it really really burns. It's really important to get the upper body nice and warmed up. Because for every one pound of lean muscle mass you're burning between fifty and sixty calories a day. So keep up the cardio, keep up the light weight training and you'll be looking great in no time.
