"Hi this is Yolanda Vanveen. And in this segment we're going to talk about how to grow a Cranesbill. Now Cranesbill is a beautiful plant that is also known as geranium sanguineum. And so they really grow the same as geraniums and they need just a few things to survive. So whether you're growing a geranium in a container or the ground you need a place to grow it. You also need some soil so that the roots have something to grab onto. And you need a geranium plant. And then you need water and sunlight and outside of that, that's about all you need to grow a Cranesbill. So the first step is planting your Cranesbill in a container so that it has good drainage. So I always recommend using a container that lots of gravel in the bottom. Because once you have gravel in the bottom then you have good drainage. And you can leave it in the smaller container for as long as possible. They actually like to be root bound a bit to get more blooms. So it's not quite ready to transplant. Now the step 2 is once you have it planted you want to put it in a sunny location and make sure that it's watered well, but you drain it well and so that it never sits right in water. Now the third step in taking care of any kinds of geranium is always pinching back the dead flowers and the dead leaves. And try not to pinch it back more than one third at one time. Now the fourth step in taking care of geranium is in the winter time make sure and bring it inside if you live in a cold climate. Because if it freezes in any way you're going to lose it. You can always trim it all the way back and throw it in the garage and keep it a little bit moist but not too wet so that it's going to rot. So it's a fine line. And then that way you can save it and replant it for the next spring. And that's how easy it is to grow Cranesbill."
