How to Draw a Big Rig

"Hello, my name is Jacklyn LaFlamme. I'm a professional artist, with JacklynLaFlamme.com. In this clip, I'm going to show you how to draw a big rig. You'll need a sketchbook. You'll need some black markers to draw with. When drawing a big rig, we're going to start off with some very basic shapes. Just going to do some lines just like this, so it's almost a rectangle in perspective. Then we're going to start drawing a square but we're going to stop right about here, and then we're going to start kind of another square and pull the line around to create the cab of the truck. I'm just going to do another line there and we'll connect the two, and that will create the windshield. Then, we'll do the very basic circle shapes for the wheels, and as you can see, I started with the small one, and they're getting bigger as we're getting closer to the front of the truck. I'm just going to do another kind of rectangle shape here and we'll join up this line. Another line down here to create the windows on the cab, and then two more circles for the headlamps. We'll join up this line here, and then we'll put a line here between the two tires. We'll draw in some more circles just to add a little bit more detail to the wheels and we'll just get the perspective shown here in the wheels, and we'll just do one more quick square in here, and we can just show some quick lines like this just to show that that's glass. And, we put a little bit more detail in the cab of the truck here, and just with a few simple shapes, you have your big rig. This has been Jacklyn LaFlamme. Thank you for watching."
