"Hi I am Erica I am in Atlanta, Georgia and I am going to talk to you today about sterilizing breast pump parts. Now what you are going to have to do first is actually take apart the breast pump, take off the bottle and all the pieces take them all apart that way you can get them thoroughly cleansed. Then you are going to take a pot of water and it depends on, you can use a medium size or a large size depending on how many parts you are cleaning. We are just going to clean a little amount today so we are using a smaller pan a medium pan and what you need to do is just bring it to a boil. After you have brought it to a boil, which it is boiling right now, you just set the breast pump's parts in. You can kind of move them around. And all the little parts. And you are going to let it boil for ten minutes, only ten minutes not any longer, and this is what is actually going to be sterilizing your breast pump parts. Once the ten minutes is up turn off your stove so it does not keep boiling, you are going to have to take your tongs and just pick the pieces up make sure you get water out of all the nooks and crannies kind of shake it out a little bit, and set it on a clean towel to dry. And then once you get all of them out of the pan, you need to wait till they are thoroughly dried to make sure that they are completely sterilized. And before you assemble the breast pump back together be sure to wash your hands, make sure you use antibacterial soap that way your hands are clean so that you are not touching newly sterilized breast pump parts with dirty hands. Make sure you wash your hands, then you can assemble it and it is ready to use again."
