"Hello, I'm Rachael Richardson, I'm a licensed nutritionist and a registered dietitian with Nutrolution.com. In this clip, I'm going to show you how to read a digital body scale. People always want to know how much they weigh. Of course, feeling good and having the energy that you want to go through the day and the night with all the best health is most important. But it's also important to check your weight, about once a week. What you'll need is, a scale and a hand held digital reader BMI device. You're also going to need a person to weight, in this case it'll be me. The first thing you want to do, is hold your hand held device like this, get a good grip so that your palms are actually touching the metal. The next thing you do, is get on the scale, placing one foot first on the metal and then the other foot on the metal, right there, balancing as the actual monitor weighs you. And what it's actually doing is, this device is sending electrical currents down through your body, through this side. And then up through this side and around here and connecting, so that it can actually measure different body tissue in your body, not just your total weight. See, it's really important that you know, not just what your total weight number is, but how much muscle, how much bone density, how much water and how much fat is in your body. This has been Rachael Richardson and thank you for watching."
