"Hi, I'm Will from The Outspokin Bicycle and Sport Shop located in Newbury, New Hampshire. Today we're going to talk a little bit about how to install a snowboard binding. Simply put, you might be swapping out a binding, you might have just bought a binding, a new binding for your old deck, what have you. In essence, most boards have what we call inserts. This is where we're going to install our binding. You can see we have one installed here already. I'm going to show you how to install the front or right binding, in this case. Some don't have as many holes, there might be not as many; this is just a few more holes, just a finer adjustment for perfect stance width. So once you've determined which foot forward, right foot, left foot forward, and your preferred stance width, and toe in or toe out, you can install the binding. Now the bindings are really helpful in terms of making that easier for you. We have a plate inside here with teeth and come with four screws and washers. It's a number three Phillips washer, not a number two; I mean a screw, not a number two. Number three's a lot easier, a little bit bigger, a little better purchase. All these little serrations here these teeth allow you to position the binding the way you want. You can have the binding a little more duck-toed or pigeon-toed, it's all about preference here. All these holes and actually this disc has slots in this case or usually there's extra holes on the disc to pretty much give you an infinite amount of adjustment possibilities. So once you figure out where you want to put it, you set it in place, line up your screws, take out your number three Phillips head and just walk around all four corners here. Once you get all screws snug you just want to walk around and tighten them up. And you don't want to go too tight. It's kind of hard to explain to you on video about too tight, but these are just inserts and if you really tried to Schwarzenegger it, you're going to pull those inserts up through the base a little bit and you'll dimple your base. So it's better just to go around and kind of snug them up and then just double check them after your first ride, make sure that they're still tight. Once you're tight, see I'm just walking round going to every one, every corner, just making sure they're tight. Double-check everything, make sure you're happy with it and you're ready to go for your ride. And that's how you install a snowboard binding."
