Hi I'm Dave Trull with The Trull Gallery, a custom furniture shop in St. Petersburg, Florida and I'm going to talk to you today about how to oil a framing gun or a framing nailer. A framing nailer, really simple piece of equipment and what you want to do is make sure you oil it daily. If you are working all day long, you are going to work all morning long and break for lunch, work all afternoon, two drops in the morning, two drops in the afternoon and that will provide enough lubrication for your gun to keep it running smoothly all day. Real quickly about the oil you use you don't want to use just any oil. There are specific oils made for pneumatic tools. It's different from what goes in your compressor, it's different from what goes in your car, so you want to look for pneumatic tool oil and there are even two versions of it, here in Florida it is not a big deal but I used to live up in Maine where people would be out framing in the Winter there would be Winter gun oil and normal gun oil, just different viscosities to allow the gun to work best at different temperatures and really oiling a framing gun is just a simple operation, just stand your gun up, two drops in the tip of your air input and when you hook up your air hose that will push the oil into the gun where it will be used throughout the day to keep your cylinder moving nice and easily, very simple process. So that's how to oil a framing nailer. I'm Dave Trull at the Trull Gallery, the fine art of furniture making.
