"Hey my name is Gavin McKenzie with buildmckenzie.com in Miami Beach, Florida. Let's talk a little bit about construction leads. First of all what is a construction lead? A construction lead is somebody going after you to obtain business. Basically leads can come to us and I can pursue them or people can actually just come to us and hire us. So in my own case we use two types of avenues to pursue. First off is the word of mouth. These are the best leads that the construction industry can offer. These are people who you have already done work for and they are referring us to someone else. What's great about these construction leads is there is no guess work involved. They have already seen your work or heard about it and they are being referred to typically by a friend or an associate. Trust is one of the biggest aspects of this business and once you have been referred to by another party they have already broken that trust barrier and kind of, you know, they are already trusting you based on a friend of theirs. The other aspect that we pursue is Internet-based. We do have a strong presence on the Internet and we get a fair amount of business leads that way. Now our lead to close ratio is much smaller on the Internet. The reason for this is they're not coming with that trust factor already instilled."
