"Hi! I'm Tracy Prentiss of Montague, Massachusetts, and I'm going to show you how to make a simple flyer in Microsoft Word 2007. We're making a flyer for a flower sale. We're going to start by making ourselves a blank new document. We want our flyer to be a little jazzy. One thing you can do to add visual impact to a flyer is to put a graphic border around the outside edge. To do that, I'm going to click on the Page Layout tab in the ribbon to activate it. In the Page Background group, there's a button for page borders. Click on Page Borders to bring out the Borders and Shading dialog box. The stylist allows you to choose simple ones for your border, but I want something with more visual impact. So for this flyer I'm going down to the bottom and bringing down the Art drop down list. This will allow you to choose from a bunch of pre-designed graphic borders. Because this is a flower sale, I'm going to find myself some little flowers, and use them for my border. When I click Okay, I have a nice graphic border around the outside of my document. I'll be putting in the text to describe what I'm doing, and when it's happening and where. Text needs to be big when you're writing a flyer, so you're going to select your text, then click on the Home tab. The Font group gives us the tools we need to make our text big enough that people will be able to read it when I posted our flyers around. I'm going to choose a new font, we're also going to center the text. Graphic images can also add impact to flyers. To add a picture to your flyer, position your insertion point where you'd like the picture to go, and go in your Insert tab. The Clip Art button allows you to choose items that come with Microsoft Office. Here I've searched for clip art of flowers, and I've got some lovely roses. I will click on this picture to add it to my flyer. I'm going to use my zoom control to see more of my flyer at once, and now I've got my nice flower sale flyer for the school. That is how to make a basic flyer in Microsoft Word 2007."
