Video Transcript

"Hi we're Francis and Sari Jacob of Renter's Paradise here in Miami, Florida. Let's talk about what to do when looking for an apartment. First of all you want to find a local realtor's office that specializes in rentals. You want to meet with the realtor, discuss your criteria, what you're looking for, when you need to move in, how much money you have to move in, how your credit is, what areas you are looking to be located in and you want to start looking at a variety of properties. Furthermore you could find out if the place that you're moving into has a security deposit for an elevator fee and if you could move in on the weekends that's a very important question. Make sure you connect all your utilities, find out if you can have a satellite dish and if you need an authorization letter to have that for and get some feedback from the tenants. Go by the property at night, see the condition of the property, find out if the tenants are happy there, if there are any issues in the building and so on and so forth."
