"Hi my name is Lisa. I'm a hairstylist in Wilmington, North Carolina and I'm here to talk about how to make hair longer and thicker. Well hair grows about 5/8's of an inch a month so to get really long hair you'll want to have it trimmed about every two months but you want to be sure you go to a stylist that's not going to take off more than you have grown over the past couple months so your best bet is to find somebody with long pretty hair and find out who does their hair because chances are that stylist is going to be very conservative in the way they cut your hair if you're trying to grow it out. Another way to get really long thick hair is to eliminate things that cause friction like keeping your hair in ponytails, doing a lot of teasing and brushing and things like that that cause breakage. I like to sleep on a satin pillow case. That is a real soft alternative to a regular cotton woven fabric. It has, the fibers are really long and there is no friction on your hair and also on your skin so that's a good way to promote long healthy hair. Another way to do, to promote long healthy hair is to use a product that increases the actual diameter of each hair strand by coating it with a special product that is designed for strengthening and increasing the volume of hair. There is also lots of volumizing products as far as styling products, shampoos that clump up each hair to give it the illusion of being thicker but as far as the length you just have to stop cutting it but keep it trimmed because if you don't trim it at all you'll end up with split ends that will split all the way up the hair shaft and you'll end up with no length at all so that's some good ways to promote long thick hair."
