Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take off the top off the cage by unclasping the sides. Lift off and set aside. Now you only have the bottom of cage (the Tub) to work with.

  2. Step 2

Open the Garbage or Leaf Bag and slide the Tub into the bag until it is completely inside the bag. Carefully stand the bag up with the Tub inside and turn it over. This will allow the soiled bedding to fall out into the bag without you having to touch it. Open the bag and slowly lift the Tub up and pull it out of the bag.

  3. Step 3

Spray the disinfectant on the inside of the empty Tub. Wipe it off with a sponge.

  4. Step 4

Line the bottom of the Tub with a couple layers of newspaper. You can also use a cut-up grocery bag.

  5. Step 5

Put the bedding in the Tub and spread it out evenly. There should be about 2" of bedding.

  6. Step 6

Spray an odor eliminator on the bedding. After spraying, move the bedding with your fingers, then spray again and wait 5 minutes to put the guinea pig back in cage.

  7. Step 7

Replace the top of the cage and clamp the sides down. Now you have a clean cage ready for its furry little occupant.
