Step 1
Essentail OilsOur goal here is to protect our hair from harsh water, chemicals in our products and to add moisture to our dry hair. Coconut oil is a great pre-poo/pre-wash shampoo natural product to use in this step. You can also use a conditioner just add your favorite essential oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil. You want to apply it to your hair roots to tips and cover you hair with a heat cap or plastic cap for about 20 minutes. Then rinse and shampoo your hair as normal.
-
Step 2
shampooIn this step you will just be washing your hair as normal. Is is always good to massage your scalp to stimulate and wake up the scalp. If you are using a shampoo with Sulfate in them I suggest washing only once with a small amount. You can also add an essential oil to your shampoo for extra moisture. The detergent in the shampoo can be damaging to your hair, you can find a natural shampoo called Hair One at Sally's Beauty Supply. It is comparable to WEN on QVC, this is an all natural shampoo and has no sulfate in them, loaded with essential oils.
-
Step 3
Rinse HairAfter rinsing the shampoo out of you hair you then want to proceed with your deep conditioner. I have found it best to part hair into 4 sections and work one at a time. If you have an applicator brush use it to apply the conditioner from roots to tips. Concentrating on the ends of your hair, make sure to saturate the hair all the way through. Once you have completed one section move on to the next. It is best to sit under a hooded dry or use heat cap for about 30 minutes. If your have no heat cap a plastic bag will do and just extend the amount of time you leave on.

Step 4
Hair DryerWhat we are trying to accomplish is to get the loaded with moisture which our hair tends to suck up instantly. Moisture will reduce breakage, stimulate growth and allow you to retain length. Since heat products will dry your hair out it is best to let your hair air dry or do a roller set to avoid blow drying. Make sure to use a leave-in conditioner while your hair is drying. Wearing protective styles that do not require flat irons or curling irons helps reduce dryness, breakage and split ends. Best to find a styles that does not require heat and be sure to alternate styles.
-
Step 5
Next step is to apply your daily moisturizer to your hair followed by your essential oil to seal in the moisture. Be sure to concentrate on the ends of your hair. They tend to dry the fastest turn brittle and break, so to avoid that make sure to moisture them good. This is one reason wearing protective styles it allows your hair to retain moisture preventing split ends and damage.
